Bonding a PV module to a an anodized aluminum frame using the WEEB is suprisingly easy. The following example shows a ground or pole mount installation, but the patented WEEB teeth function in the same way for rail mount installations. Detailed instructions for each WEEB part may be found in the appropriate datasheet.
Simply place one WEEB-9.5 in the mounting hole at two of the four normal mounting points. For best grounding, each of the two should contact a different mounting member. Then install a PV module and mounting hardware as usual. The only difference in the hardware is that a 1/4-28 bolt is used instead of a 1/4-20 in order to provide a bit more force. A complete stainless steel hardware kit can be provided with each WEEB-9.5. As the hardware is tightened, the teeth pierce through the anodized aluminum surface of both the PV module and the mounting member making a solid electrical connection as shown in Figure 1. The WEEB does all the hard work, so you won't have to.

Grounding the entire array is even easier! Simply mount one WEEBLug for each rail, making sure the teeth will penetrate into the aluminum rail. (The lug itself is tin plated copper and the washer is stainless, so that connection can be pressure only.) The lug is a lay-in type, making it easy to attach the ground wire. Because you don't have to run ground wire to every single module, you save time and make a much cleaner installation. Neat!
