WEEB-WMR1
Wiley Electronics released WEEB grounding solutions for the WattSun Tracker, JAC Rack, and Solar Liberty Smart Raxx. The WattSun Tracker grounding solution uses two styles of WEEB washer to ground both the PV modules and the WattSun torque tubes. The WEEB-WMR1 and WEEB-WMR2 will allow installers to ground their WattSun systems without running copper wire or attaching lugs to each of their modules, minimizing the labor and risk of environmental degradation. The WEEB-WMR1s are compatible only with modules using a "box" style frame. For more information, the installation manual is available on the WEEB information page.
WEEB-JJR
The JAC Rack solution positions WEEB-JJRs beneath mid-clamps to ground both the modules and the mounting rails, similar to the xMC series of WEEBs. The Solar Liberty Smart Raxx solution uses two WEEB-SSFs placed beneath each module at the upper module clips, bonding the modules to a grounded racking system. All of our WEEB parts have been certified by ETL to ANSI/UL 467 for Canada and the U.S. To view installation manuals, certifications, or for more information on any of the new WEEB parts, please visit our WEEB information page.

Company president, Brian Wiley, says, “While intending to remain an engineering development company, this component of the business will give us valuable experience in current methods of installation. We intend to identify those areas of solar installation which could be improved and simplified to help reduce the cost of solar installations. The right way to do this is to do the installations ourselves. Customers will also benefit by having the latest engineering on their systems. While many installers are trades people with additional training, all installers for Wiley Electronics LLC have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.“
Want $50 off your next order of WEEBs?
We will be developing a list of cities and inspectors where the WEEB has already been installed. This will help inspectors by letting them know other inspectors who have researched the WEEBs and encourage them to share information. It will help installers feel more comfortable using WEEBs in a new area. For the first installer to report an inspector's acceptance, it will result in a tangible, monetary benefit.
So help us and we will show our appreciation.

Wiley Electronics LLC announced the introduction of three new products for grounding of PV modules and arrays. All three products have been tested according to UL467 and are listed with Intertek, a National Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). The products use patent pending technology for bonding anodized aluminum surfaces together. Bonding solar modules to a mounting structure removes the need to wire the modules separately: just the mounting structure needs to be wired to ground.
The WEEB-9.5 is a washer used to bond the frame of a solar module to a mounting structure. Intended for use with pole and ground mount structures, the WEEB-9.5 has features for retention in any 3/8 inch hole. This allows four WEEB-9.5s to be inserted at the four mounting places for a module with 1/4 inch hardware. When the hardware is tightened, specially designed teeth on the WEEB-9.5 embed into the module and mounting structure, making a gas-tight connection. The WEEB-CL performs a similar function for rail-mounted modules.
Rounding out the product family is the WEEBLug, a two piece set of washer plus lug. The washer has specialized teeth for making connection through an anodized aluminum surface. The lug allows the lay-in connection of wire after the lug has been mounted.

Wiley Electronics LLC announces the introduction of the Acme Solar Site Evaluation Tool (ASSET). The ASSET is a modern, photographic method of evaluating the amount of shading at a site. The ASSET consists of custom hardware and software. The hardware allows a precise series of pictures to be taken. The software assembles the pictures into a panoramic image then overlays the path of the sun on the image. The resulting image alone allows easy visualization of those features responsible for shading, but the software also automatically calculates the amount of shading. The ease with which multiple sets of pictures can be taken and analyzed makes it easy to optimize location of a solar array.
The ASSET introductory pricing is $400. The product is currently in beta test for the software. Orders are being accepted now and deliveries will begin November 1st.
