ASSET Software

Tilt & Orientation Factor (TOF)

The Tilt & Orientation Factor (TOF) is used by various states and organizations to evaluate a PV system's energy capture as compared to the energy capture for that location at ideal tilt and orientation. This ideal value is specified by the entity which requires its use. As the data becomes available, we will be adding it to the ASSET spreadsheet for our customers' use.

It's easy to use! When you specify a location for which TOF data is available in the ASSET software, the TOF and the Total Solar Resource Fraction (TSRF) will automatically display in the spreadsheet. Remember, to access the spreadsheet, just click on the table of numbers (V1.29 and later) on the ASSET screen. Earlier software revisions can manually open the spreadsheet.xls file from their project folder.

If you are using Open Office software (software version 1.32 only) for your spreadsheet, you will need to change the name of the batch file that is included with your software. Rename the batch file from to "rename to EXCEL.bat" to "EXCEL.bat". This will ensure compatibility with your Open Office spreadsheet software.

If you have additional TOF data which you would like to see added, please contact our software support center at the contact information listed on our website (www.we-llc.com).
