From the menus, select File → Open Pictures. Browse to find the desired picture set and select all pictures in the set. This may require you to hold the "ctrl" key while you select pictures with your mouse. A shortcut for selecting all pictures in a folder is to click the mouse button (once) inside the File Open dialog window (to transfer focus) and then to press "ctrl+A".
Wait while the software transfers the pictures (a progress bar will indicate the status). When the progress bar has reached the end and clears, the panorama with overlaid sun path (Figure 9) will be displayed.
Figure 9:
To view the panorama, click the "Panorama" button. The panorama picture file will open in the program to which ".jpg" files are linked on your computer. Similarly, to view the Solar Path picture file, click the "Solar Path" button. Alternately, the Panorama (panorama.jpg) and Solar Path (sunpath.jpg) can be opened directly from your Project folder. NEW: Also, in the Projects folder, an alternate Solar Path picture file (chart.jpg) without the red shading information is available. It is highly recommended that you close the program in which you open the panorama or sunpath picture file -- they are very large files that use extensive computer resources.
An enlarged view (Figure 10) shows more clearly some details of the survey. Portions of the sun path which are shaded are highlighted in red. The month labels and hour labels allow one to visualize when the shading occurs.
Figure 10:
Each project is automatically saved after the sunpath has been generated. After restarting the ASSET software one can again review the solar path by reopening the project. From the menus, select File → Project Open, browse to the desired project, and open the ".wly" file.
