The ASSET is a new system for quantifying shading at a site. The standard method used to be the Solar PathfinderTM (Figure 1). For a quick comparison, just look at the following two figures. Which would you rather show your customers? Wax scribble on a funny shaped card? Or a complete panoramic picture of the site with the path of the sun superimposed?

Then think about how much time you spend counting little boxes. Wouldn't you rather just have your computer do the calculations for you? And print out the results, giving you a number for shading at the bottom line? Something like Figure 3?
